FINAL P.E. BLOG POST
From September to now I think this is one of the main points I have improved on. I bring my gym strip to class every day and a proper change of clothes. I’m pretty good when it comes to having my PE strip and I never really needed to be reminded. When it comes to being in class on time I am also pretty good at that, I’m rarely late to PE, because I have no reason to be I have it right after lunch. Attendance wise I am always present (unless I am sick or something of course) and I have never skipped PE without a proper excuse. Yes, I’ve always been good at bringing a change of clothes and being on time, but my intensity of participation has really grown since September. For the first 2 months or so of the school year, I will admit I did not put my all into a lot of activities and that shows in this blog. I think since then I really have changed in this category and do participate as much as I can with most of the activities we do. I’ve learned to have fun with physical education and even if my skill level is not great, to still try my best. Of course on some days are not perfect, but when I do have bad days where I don’t feel like participating I learned that no one can really force me to do the activities, but I do them because I know it is good for me and that I am the only one who can really make PE class fun if I set my mind to it. I am never really reminded to work hard, because I believe I do on most days, especially now. On choice days my motivation to choose a certain game is the people. I surround myself with positive people especially on certain choice days I may not like. My recent post about “Formation X” is a good example, because I got a lot out of that game from getting a physical work out to also having a lot of fun with other people and my participation and activity level were really high that day, because I really did feel like I helped my team. Overall I would give myself a 5/5, just because I feel like I have accomplished my goal of participating and being more positive.
Again, from September I have blossomed from being an awkward girl who talked to 3 people in the class, to now being friends with a lot of people in our class. With that, that has really affected my presence in PE for many reasons. For one, I am usually very positive in PE, and I do encourage others as well as they encourage me. I have definitely improved with working with other people that I typically do not talk to. A good example is my blog post about “Lacrosse”, most of us were not too good, but I tried to motivate people on my team, even if we were losing and eventually the game became fun, because of the positive energy. I usually also help out with cleaning up little things like cones or balls after capture the flag and I try not to leave before the equipment is put away. With my fitness levels I am actually very honest, as you can see my scores are not typically high, but I don’t mind, because I have room to improve. I don’t like cheating with games, and to be honest I’d rather lose, because cheating and winning isn’t a real win. The one thing that I would say I could have done better in this year is leadership. I am usually better at following instructions, to make it easy for whoever is in charge. The buddy program taught me a lot about leading and I think I could still improve in that category, by being better with explaining things, taking initiative and making class even more fun for other people in other classes. The one thing I was really proud of was getting to play pickle ball with people from bases back in January. I took the chance, out of my comfort zone and decided to interact with new people. Overall I think I’d give myself a 4/5, as I need to work on making things fun with people outside our class.
To be honest, my blog turned out a lot better than I thought, in October I didn’t fully understand the point of doing these blogs and I thought they were just annoying and a waste of time. My first post on October 2 was a few sentences long and I also only used to only post on fitness days, because I thought those were the only useful days of PE. I think after the Mid Term post is when I started to realize how this blog motivated me to be positive and work hard in PE. If you look back at my posts after the Mid Term, they don’t seem as forced and I start to post things outside of PE class, like how I run and play tennis and how I couldn’t do anything for a week due to my wisdom teeth. My posts have become longer as well. Also I reflect a lot about how I feel mentally and physically in my posts and posts get more positive. My picture evidence also increased, and it’s pretty cool how much I have grown throughout the year. In total I have 48 posts including this final. The dates of my blog posts also aren’t like a week a part anymore, and my blogging has become very consistent. I feel like I have reflected on my future goals as someone even commented on my “fitness after 828282 years” blog post saying that I have. One of the things I learned about as I researched my goal of losing weight is to track down what you do and eat during the week and with that my sister helped me find the app “FitBit” which I have blogged about recently. I do have some pictures of myself in the weight room (me and Peyton on bikes working on our goal). I really need to work on dietary posts for next year, and I have many posts about fitness and games we played in class. Not only do I have in class blog posts, but I also have posts of me working out on my own or going out and being active with my family. Overall I think I have met the expectations of this digital portfolio and I’d give myself a 5/5, because I am really surprised and proud of how this blog turned out

Mid Term
2. During days where it's just our class playing a game together, and you choose some 10's to lead, I usually listen as best as I can. I understand how hard it is to deal with almost 30 kids, so I usually try my best to be quiet and let them instruct us. I wish I could say I contribute more to the class, but all I really do is follow instructions. Overall, this class is great, everyone has something a little special that they give to the class, even if it's as small as just listening to instructions like me. Also, I try to stay positive, especially during fitness, because it does get had keeping the positive vibes during those days. Comparing myself from last year, I'm not as shy when it comes to new people. This year, I've made a lot of new friends over this class. When I interact with people in this class, I always try my best to encourage them, especially during fitness. I do that, because I too like it when people encourage me.
3. My participation during fitness days, have been getting better in my opinion. I'm not as grumpy or scared of fitness than I was in September, because I know fitness days build me up. Yes, I try hard to participate and do my best during all fitness days, but of course I have failed on some. Pushing myself, is hard, but I try to think of mind over matter. One of the fitness days I still remember was the one of the pond run. That day, I didn't cheat, I made sure to push myself and run the whole way and it was one of the best P.E. days. The fitness activities I enjoy the most, are oddly enough the ones with running. I'm no Gaby when it comes to running, but when I accomplish running the whole way, it makes me happy and I enjoy gym. My fitness goals for this year are to lose weight, it's extremely difficult though. Eating healthy is a big goal as well, and has been my goal for a long time now. Hopefully, by the time June appears, I will achieved my goals.
4. In my opinion I think when someone has leadership, they know how to interact with everyone whether shy or not. People who have leadership think a lot about the majority of the class or group. Some of the best leaders in our class are Palvi and Simran. They both bring positive energy and talk to everyone in the class. Myself, being in grade 9 was scared of the 10's but they helped me get to know some of the other 10's. Hopefully, one day I'll turn into a leader like them.
5. Some improvements in P.E. that I would make is to learn and help set up games during choice. Also, I'm still improving on my attitude during fitness days and being consistent with my positive attitude. Not only improving my mind set, I want to improve my fitness scores slowly, but efficiently. Like I mentioned before I'm proud of my pond run accomplishment. Also the relay with our class was a great day. I didn't stop running and whenever I realized that I run the whole way it makes me feel proud for once.
Overall I think I should get a: B. I know there is still a lot I can improve on to get the A In the future.

POKER
Ahh I almost for got to post this all weekend while it sat in my notes.
Today we played poker. Not the card game. We had to do activities like sit ups and push ups before we got the card. The first few rounds we didn't get anything, but on the last round we got 5 5's and we won. Yay! My stomach was sore after all those push ups, but still this fitness day was one of my favorites.

Insanity
The fitness work out we did on Friday was so hard. Especially after having winter break and not being used to doing fitness again. My legs are still sore along with my arms, but then again no pain no gain right? At one point in Insanity I had to modify a lot of it, because of how hard some of the work outs were. All in all, I kind of miss feeling that adrenaline from fitness.

Pickle Ball with new people
Today in P.E. we played Pickle Ball, it was the first time I'd played that game before and I enjoyed it. My partner was one of the bases kids and he was really cool. He was better than me and got lots of points. My cousin is similar to him and I like interacting with both of them. I started off being partners with Peyton, but she gave me the idea of having a different partner. I'm thankful I got to expierence someone new and I hope to meet more new people.
