1) Have you read your son/daughters blog? Yes.
Was
there anything that surprised you or stood out immediately? That they are doing a lot of physical
activities compared to last year. It is definitely good for their health. And
she is having fun.
What
was your favourite part about reading his/her reflections? The pure excitement she has as Micah
narrates her joy and happiness in these wholesome exercises. I like how she is
truthful as well.
What
did you learn about your son/daughter that you didn't know before reading the
blog? What part of your child's growth/personality has been reaffirmed
for you? That she is actively
participating in PE and actually enjoying it at the same time. That she has a
positive outlook in life despite her limitations in this very athletic
environment.
If
you were evaluating him/her on his/her blogging efforts, what would you say?
What would you give him/her out of 25? 23
How
did you come up with that number? Because
I enjoy reading her blogs and she has lots of fun doing it.
HEALTHY
LIVING:
2) What do you notice about your child's health choices outside of school? She is conscious of her own health.
2) What do you notice about your child's health choices outside of school? She is conscious of her own health.
What activity and or diet choices does s/he
make on their own? Playing tennis
with her old man and not eating after 6:00 p.m. besides fruits
What exercise/eating choices are encouraged by
the family/household? Tennis,
Long-boarding, threadmill and biking. Control intake of fats and carbohydrates.
Did you see any evidence of this in his/her
blog? Yes, she blogged about playing
Tennis and going out for runs
What is missing that should be included? A daily schedule of physical
activities that must be religiously followed and also more about her diet
What improvements do you think your child
could/should make to further his/her understanding and participation in his/her
own health? She should set a
reachable goal aim at lowering her weights.
What
things can you as parent do to push this learning/practice? By watching over them and doing those
activities with them.
If you were to evaluate your son/daughter on
their progress towards personal healthy life choices what would you say? Needs some improvements, but overall is
pretty well done.
What
mark would you give them out of 25 for his/her efforts and demonstration of
those efforts in the blog? 22
How
did you come up with that number? She
needs to be consistent, But I am very pleased that they are aware of their own
health. I thank the school for encouraging the students in physical education.
Thank you for this post! I am always excited to see my kids from the home perspective. It sounds like Micah get's lots of support and advice about healthy choices at home and I happy to see that she shares these choices with her family. Shared successes and changes will be easier to maintain than the stuff she does solo. I agree that her attitude is great… so the next step is to figure out how to use dietary research and specific exercise plans to help her efforts be the most effective they can be. She is well on her way in this journey. :)
