1. During P.E. this year I've brought my gym strip for most of the year so far, and continue to keep up with that. I try to have a positive attitude , even if some of the activities we do aren't my favorites. Recently, one of the best days was when I tried my hardest was during choice. Truthfully speaking I don't do much on choice days. However our recent choice day when we played badminton, was probably the most I've really participated and put in my best effort. Just like many people I struggle with certain fitness days, I can improve on a lot with my fitness scores. Instead of giving my best efforts on good days, I should try to keep it positive on all days. I think I struggle with my consistency towards how hard I try on certain days.
2. During days where it's just our class playing a game together, and you choose some 10's to lead, I usually listen as best as I can. I understand how hard it is to deal with almost 30 kids, so I usually try my best to be quiet and let them instruct us. I wish I could say I contribute more to the class, but all I really do is follow instructions. Overall, this class is great, everyone has something a little special that they give to the class, even if it's as small as just listening to instructions like me. Also, I try to stay positive, especially during fitness, because it does get had keeping the positive vibes during those days. Comparing myself from last year, I'm not as shy when it comes to new people. This year, I've made a lot of new friends over this class. When I interact with people in this class, I always try my best to encourage them, especially during fitness. I do that, because I too like it when people encourage me.
3. My participation during fitness days, have been getting better in my opinion. I'm not as grumpy or scared of fitness than I was in September, because I know fitness days build me up. Yes, I try hard to participate and do my best during all fitness days, but of course I have failed on some. Pushing myself, is hard, but I try to think of mind over matter. One of the fitness days I still remember was the one of the pond run. That day, I didn't cheat, I made sure to push myself and run the whole way and it was one of the best P.E. days. The fitness activities I enjoy the most, are oddly enough the ones with running. I'm no Gaby when it comes to running, but when I accomplish running the whole way, it makes me happy and I enjoy gym. My fitness goals for this year are to lose weight, it's extremely difficult though. Eating healthy is a big goal as well, and has been my goal for a long time now. Hopefully, by the time June appears, I will achieved my goals.
4. In my opinion I think when someone has leadership, they know how to interact with everyone whether shy or not. People who have leadership think a lot about the majority of the class or group. Some of the best leaders in our class are Palvi and Simran. They both bring positive energy and talk to everyone in the class. Myself, being in grade 9 was scared of the 10's but they helped me get to know some of the other 10's. Hopefully, one day I'll turn into a leader like them.
5. Some improvements in P.E. that I would make is to learn and help set up games during choice. Also, I'm still improving on my attitude during fitness days and being consistent with my positive attitude. Not only improving my mind set, I want to improve my fitness scores slowly, but efficiently. Like I mentioned before I'm proud of my pond run accomplishment. Also the relay with our class was a great day. I didn't stop running and whenever I realized that I run the whole way it makes me feel proud for once.
Overall I think I should get a: B. I know there is still a lot I can improve on to get the A In the future.
Micah this is a great post and I appreciate your effort to hate me and my class a little less. :) I notice the things you are doing on fitness days and I like that I do blogs so that I can hear what you are thinking too. I hope you are starting to see this class as all about you. You score on fitness is only part of your story, so keep focused on the poz feelings of working hard (like the pond run). I love that you modify stuff that's tough instead of giving up. Keep up the hard work, do a week diet log and start posting about your health goals a little more and you'll be an A for sure in June.
